Full Description: Acaya Golf course adjoins, the Nature Reserve of Cesine and it two kilometres away from the Adriatic beach of San Cataldo. The golf course covers an area of 120 hectares. It is surrounded by a thick wood of holly-oaks, by vast olive-groves and rare spontaneous flora, which give to the area a typical Mediterranean aspect.

The whole golf course stretches across an area where human presence cannot be noticed and large natural extensions and fresh air are its main features. In that area and near the Club House two picturesque Basilian crypts can be seen. They were built by Basilian monks who fled from Constantinople in the 10th century because of the religious struggles.

Acaya golf course with 18 championship holes is situated in this area of extraordinary beauty. The holes are placed in the strips of land not occupied by the maquis bushes, the typical Mediterranean vegetation surrounding it. From the fortified farmhouse which has been converted into the Club House there is a splendid view over the course, with the two large lakes that flank the 1st and the 18th holes. The links have been designed so as to respect and enhance the surrounding nature. It is a course of great technical rigour where everything is absolutely natural but where in fact nothing has been left to chance. It will certainly be a challenge for any golf-player, but most of all it will be very pleasant to play on this course.
