Castiello Golf Course Asturias

Full Description: The Castiello Golf Course was inaugurated day 17 of Julio of 1958 having been its impeller Felix Cifuentes, next to other 200 asturianos/as enthusiastic of the sport. His first president was Javier Loring Guilhou.

In its beginnings the surface occupied in rent was of about 160,000 m2 and a route of 9 holes. Year 1981 an extension supposed another landmark in the evolution of the Club when undertaking itself until the 18 prescribed holes. Later new property will be added, several holes will be modified and improved and it is arrived at the year 2004 in which the partners acquire the property of the present Club.

It is the Club dean of golf in Asturias and the 19 of October de1998 received the distinction to incorporate to its primitive name the title of Real Club of Golf of Castiello and to use the crown in its official shield. At the present time it has about 550 familiar partners.

The Club is located to 5 kms of Gijón, in an elevation of the parish of Castiello de Bernueces with magnificent views to a varied landscape of trees and grasslandses. The name of Castiello comes from the Latin term Castrum and of his diminutivo Castelum that is in the origin of this topónimo and it sends us to the time of Roman colonization of Gijón.
