Full Description: Falsterbo Golf Course was founded in 1909. The club is the third oldest golf club in Sweden and the course is constantly ranked as one of the top three courses in Sweden and among the Top 50 courses on the European continent.

The Falsterbo Golf Course is located in a natural preservation area and is frequently also visited by non-golfers (primarily many bird watchers as the Falsterbo peninsula is the last stop for many migrant birds). This requiers of course mutual consideration and respect.

The first nine hole course was laid out on the links not very far from the present location in 1910 by Robert Turnbull, professional at Copenhagen Golf Course. In 1912 a new nine hole course was designed on the present area around the lighthouse.

The present 18 holes well bunkered traditional links course, designed by the local medical doctor Gunnar Bauer, was inaugurated in 1930. The two holes remaining from from the original 1912 course are the 7th and the 14th. Apart from a total renovation of all the green areas during 1996-2001, designed by Peter Nordwall and Peter Chamberlain, the course layout remained practically the same.
