Full Description: The 18 hole championship Gut Altentann golf course was the first design from Jack Nicklaus on mainland Europe. According to own statement he took great pleasure creating the course in this beautiful environment. Jack used three criteria when designing the course.

The story of the Gut Altentann begins expanded until the 17th century in fact it was a sizable Castle. However, lacking money it decayed and fell victim finally in 1680 to a fire.

Gut Altentann golf club is a private golf club established in 1989 created for the sole privilege of the Club's members and their invited guests. The property is located in the town of Henndorf, just 10 minutes outside Salzburg.

The location of Gut Altentann golf club , in the heart of the Salzburg Alps, is exceptional for its natural beauty as well as its conception. Since January 99 Gut Altentann Golf Club is part of the very exclusive association: Finest Golf Clubs of the World.

The Gut Altentann golf course is an 18-hole regulation golf course, designed by the world-renowned architect Jack Nicklaus, and sets a new standard of excellence in the region.

In 1990 - 1992 the Austrian Open was staged at the course.
